Hair Health
Hair loss has a cause. The work starts with identifying it; only then does it make sense to choose a treatment.
Why diagnosis comes first
Hair loss is not a diagnosis, it is a symptom. It can result from androgenetic alopecia, nutritional deficiencies, thyroid disorders, anaemia, acute stress, medication or scalp conditions.
Treatments applied without a diagnosis often fail, not because they are bad, but because they are treating the wrong thing. Hair loss caused by iron deficiency does not improve with mesotherapy; it improves by correcting the iron.
Trichological assessment
The consultation includes a detailed medical history, examination of the scalp and the hair loss pattern and, when indicated, blood tests to rule out systemic causes.
Taken together, this tells us whether we are dealing with temporary hair loss, which reverses, or progressive miniaturisation of the follicle, which requires a long term strategy.
Treatment options
- Medical treatment — topical or oral, depending on the cause identified.
- Scalp mesotherapy — micro injections of substances that stimulate the follicle.
- PRP (platelet rich plasma) — uses growth factors from the patient's own blood.
- Scalp microneedling — stimulates blood flow to the scalp and boosts absorption of topical treatments.
- Hair transplant — when the follicle can no longer be recovered and density needs to be redistributed.
These options are not isolated alternatives. They are often combined, and medical treatment continues even when moving on to a transplant. Without it, the native hair keeps being lost.
Frequently asked questions
How many hairs a day is it normal to lose?
Losing between 50 and 100 hairs a day is within the expected range. What deserves attention is a change in pattern: clearly losing more than usual, noticing your scalp is more visible, or seeing your hair thin.
Does PRP cure baldness?
PRP can improve the density and quality of existing hair and slow progression, but it does not bring back follicles that have already disappeared. In completely bald areas, the response is limited.
How long until I see results?
Hair grows slowly. Any hair treatment needs three to six months before an honest assessment of results. Anyone promising improvement within weeks is promising what they cannot deliver.
