Sonetti Clinic
Skin Diseases
A consultation dedicated to diagnosing and treating skin conditions, with time to understand the cause before defining the treatment.
When to book a consultation
Your skin gives warnings. Spots that change colour or size, persistent itching, flaking that does not clear, breakouts that continue past adolescence, redness that appears and does not go away: all are valid reasons for an assessment.
One reason deserves a special mention: any mole that changes shape, colour or border, or that bleeds, should be seen without delay.
Conditions we treat
- Acne — active, inflammatory, and the scars it leaves behind.
- Melasma and hyperpigmentation — facial dark spots, often made worse by the sun or hormonal changes.
- Eczema, atopic dermatitis and psoriasis — chronic inflammatory conditions that can be controlled but require follow up.
- Rosacea — persistent facial flushing, sensitivity and inflammatory lesions.
- Skin infections — fungal, bacterial and viral, including herpes and shingles.
- Benign lesions — warts, cysts and moles that warrant removal or monitoring.
How the consultation works
The consultation starts with your medical history: how long the problem has lasted, what makes it worse, what has already been tried and what medication you take. This is followed by a skin examination.
A diagnosis is not always immediate. Some conditions require additional tests or a period of observation. When that is the case, we say so clearly rather than moving to a trial and error treatment.
Frequently asked questions
Is adult acne normal?
It is common, especially in women, and has its own causes: hormonal, certain cosmetics, stress or medication. It is not the same as teenage acne and does not necessarily respond to the same treatments.
Can eczema be cured?
Atopic dermatitis is a chronic condition: it cannot be cured permanently, but it can be controlled very well. The aim of treatment is to space out and soften flare ups and reduce the impact on quality of life.
Do dark spots come back after treatment?
Melasma tends to recur, especially with sun exposure. That is why treatment always includes a maintenance and sun protection strategy. Without it, the result does not last.
