Polynucleotides (PRDN)

A regenerative treatment that improves skin quality from within, particularly useful for thin or dehydrated skin and the delicate eye area.

What they are

Polynucleotides are fragments of purified DNA with regenerative and hydrating properties. They act on fibroblasts, improving the skin's ability to repair itself and its deep hydration.

They neither fill nor paralyse. What they do is improve tissue quality: elasticity, hydration, thickness and tolerance.

Indications

  • Thin, dehydrated skin or skin with loss of elasticity
  • The eye area, including dark circles with a vascular component
  • Sensitive or reactive skin, including some cases of rosacea
  • A complement in scar and post acne protocols
  • Preparing the skin before other procedures

Protocol

Usually three to four sessions, two to three weeks apart. Each session takes about 30 minutes.

It is a well tolerated treatment with a short recovery period. Small bumps may appear at the injection points and disappear within a few hours.

Frequently asked questions

Is it the same as hyaluronic acid?

No. Hyaluronic acid restores volume and retains water. Polynucleotides do not add volume; they act on tissue regeneration and quality. They can be used together, with different goals.

Does it help with dark circles?

It is often a good option for the eye area, especially when dark circles involve thin skin and poor tissue quality, where filler alone would not be the right answer.

How long does it last?

The effects usually last six to nine months after the full protocol, with maintenance sessions depending on the assessment.
