What they are

These are threads made of absorbable material, inserted under the skin with a fine cannula. They do two things at once: they provide mechanical lift, repositioning tissue that has sagged, and they stimulate collagen formation along their path.

The body gradually absorbs the material, typically over about two years, but the collagen formed remains.

Who it suits

Mild to moderate laxity, especially in the mid face, jawline and neck, in people who do not want or are not candidates for surgery.

It is important to be realistic about what it can achieve: with marked laxity, threads do not replace a surgical facelift. In those cases, we tell you in consultation rather than suggest a treatment that will not meet your expectations.

The procedure

It is done under local anaesthetic and takes between 45 and 60 minutes. The entry points are minimal.

In the following days, swelling, some discomfort when chewing and possible bruising are normal. We recommend avoiding intense exercise, sleeping on your back and avoiding wide facial movements for about two weeks.

Results

There is an immediate repositioning effect, which looks more natural once the swelling settles after two to three weeks. The biostimulation component keeps working over the following months.

Can the threads be seen or felt?
